The space is brand new and would be perfect for a person looking for privacy but wanting a central location to explore Charleston. And it's very close to Folly Beach! It's a 4 mile bike ride to having your toes in the sand. The neighborhood is quiet and we are pretty chill.

About the property

Super cute, brand new construction, accessory dwelling unit (ADU) over a 3 car garage. The living space is 795 square feet. The guest will have the space to themselves, and a parking pad on site. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, utilities included except for cable TV. There is a small porch on the front to enjoy the outdoors. Close to Folly Beach and convenient to downtown Charleston. Dogs are welcome but there is not a fenced in yard available so you will have to walk the dog on a leash when outside. My husband and I and our 2 dogs live in the house at the front of the property and can be immediately available for questions or needs. My husband's home office is in one of the garages below the ADU, so he will be working down there during the weekdays, but it's a separate entrance to the garages.

What is your typical day off?

A typical day off for me starts by going for a long run with friends around Charleston and taking my dog to the park. We try to find time to get the beach or perhaps out to Magnolia Plantation for my husband to take pictures of the birds. We work a lot during the week, so days off will often include running errands and projects around the house.

Why are you looking for a co-living situation right now?

We are just starting the process with Charleston County to get approval to operate an AirBnB in the space, but anticipate it will take at least a few months to get all of the permits. So the ADU is sitting empty right now and may as well be rented.

Your ideal guest

We ask that the guest be respectful of noise at night. Please avoid loud music or parties after 10 pm (we go to bed early and get up early). We have two dogs that may be in the front or back fenced in yard and they may bark at the guest until the dogs get accustomed to them, so looking for someone who is OK with occasional barking.
